AVL-1050-D Firmware & Installation Guide

This article contains installation instructions and firmware files for the Avocor AVL-1050-D non-interactive display.

Compatible Models: AVL-1050-D

Checking your firmware version:

  1. Press the settings button mceclip0.png on the UiQ Home screen, the front panel keypad on the display, or on the remote control

  1. Once the settings menu appears, tap the About tile, and Firmware Version will be displayed.

Over-the-air (OTA) update:

Required items

  • Connect the display to the network via:
    • Ethernet/CAT5 (preferred)
    • USB WiFi module

Instructions:

  1. Click the the Update System button. If a new firmware is available for download from Avocor's OTA server, the details will be displayed here

  1. Tap Download & Apply Update if you wish to upgrade your unit's firmware.

    Note: You may have to press once to Download, and again to Apply Update

  2. Your display will reboot automatically once the update is finished.

    Note: Do not disconnect power until the update is complete.

  3. Confirm the update is complete by checking the firmware version in the settings menu.
  4. Perform a Factory Reset from the About menu.

USB Update:

This process applies to the merge.zip file type.

Required items:

  • FAT32 formatted USB drive

Instructions:

  1. Download the firmware from the Firmware Download section at the bottom of the article.

  2. Download the file onto the root directory of your USB drive.

  3. Plug the USB drive into the USB Service Port located on the ethernet/control panel on the bottom right panel of the display.

  1. Open the Settings menu then select About > USB Update.

  1. Once a compatible USB and firmware has been detected, the Insert USB button will highlight and change to Apply Update.

  1. Select Apply Update to begin installing the firmware.

    Note: Do not disconnect power until the update is complete.

  2. Confirm the update is complete by checking the firmware version in the settings menu.
  3. Perform a Factory Reset from the About menu.
