Checking your firmware version
Prior to installing firmware, you scan check your current version by clicking on the OTA Service app on the Android Home screen and it will display your current version.
Over-the-air (OTA) updates
OTA updates are supported from v0.0.10 and on.
This guide is intended for use when your device is on early firmware (below v1.0.0).
Required items
- Connect the display to network via WiFi or Ethernet
- Avocor Remote
OTA update process
1. Click on the OTA Service app on the Android Home Screen
2. Click Network Upgrade
3. Click Download
4. Wait for the firmware to download
5. Click Upgrade
6. Wait for the firmware to be installed
7. The device will automatically reboot
8. If you see the "Change Project ID" popup, click reboot by pressing OK on the Avocor remote
9. The device will automatically reboot
10. In the Android Menu, perform a Factory Reset
> Click the Settings button on the Avocor remote
> Navigate to System 🠆 Reset options 🠆 Erase all data (factory reset)
> Click ERASE ALL DATA 🠆 ERASE ALL DATA
11. Once your device completes the factory reset, your firmware upgrade is complete!
USB updates
Required items
- FAT32 formatted USB drive
- Avocor Remote
USB update process
1. Download the firmware from the table at the bottom of this article
2. Format a USB drive as FAT32.
3. Extract the contents of the .zip file to the USB drive in the root directory.
4. Your USB drive should have three files on it as per the below picture:
5. Insert USB drive into the USB3.0 port of the display mainboard
6. Click on the OTA Service app on the Android Home Screen
7. Click Local Upgrade
8. Wait for the firmware to copy to the internal hard drive
9. Click Upgrade
10. Wait for the firmware to be installed
11. The device will automatically reboot
12. If you see the "Change Project ID" popup, click reboot by pressing OK on the Avocor remote
13. The device will automatically reboot
14. In the Android Menu, perform a Factory Reset
> Click the Settings button on the Avocor remote
> Navigate to System 🠆 Reset options 🠆 Erase all data (factory reset)
> Click ERASE ALL DATA 🠆 ERASE ALL DATA
15. Once your device completes the factory reset, your firmware upgrade is complete!
