This article contains installation instructions and firmware files for the Avocor AVE-xx50 series interactive displays.
Checking your firmware version
Prior to installing firmware, you should check your current version in the display's UiQ on-screen menu by pressing the gear icon button on the UiQ Home screen, the front panel keypad on the display, or on your E-series remote control unit. Once the side panel appears, tap the About menu tile, and check the Firmware Version section.
Over-the-air (OTA) updates
Required items
- Connect the display to the network via:
- Ethernet/CAT5 (preferred)
- USB WiFi module
OTA update process
1. When a new firmware is pushed from our Fuse servers to the internet, the file will automatically download and install in the background. Once complete, there will be a notification on the bottom of the screen which informs you that the display can be rebooted to complete the firmware upgrade
2. Tap "Reboot" when you are ready to upgrade the firmware.
3. After the display reboots, there may be a notification at the top of the screen that firmware updates are being performed, do NOT power off the display until these are complete.
4. Open the Settings and navigate to About đź † Factory Data Reset, then tap Yes
5. After the display reboots, there may be a notification at the top of the screen that firmware updates are being performed, do NOT power off the display until these are complete.
6. Done!
USB updates
Required items
- FAT32 formatted USB drive.
USB update process
This process applies to the aml_upgrade_package.img file type.
1. Click your desired firmware version from the downloads section.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to the USB drive in the root directory.
3. Your USB drive should have only one file in it called “aml_upgrade_package.img”
4. Plug the USB drive into the USB 2.0 port located on the left edge of the display.
5. Open the Settings and navigate to About đź † USB Update.
7. Once a compatible USB and firmware has been detected, the Insert USB button will highlight and change to Apply Update.
8. Select Apply Update to begin installing the firmware.
9. The display will reboot and the screen will show “Upgrading…” on screen.
10. When the progress bar reaches 100%, the display reboots automatically.
11. After the display reboots, there may be a notification at the top of the screen that firmware updates are being performed, do NOT power off the display until these are complete.
12. Open the Settings and navigate to About đź † Factory Data Reset, then tap Yes

14. The update is complete, you may verify your current version by opening the Settings menu and clicking the About tile.
15. If your device has been connected to the network at any point before you have performed a USB update, it is necessary to delete the device registration information on the Fuse remote management platform in order to successfully re-register your device. There are two ways to do this:
A) If the device was network connected but has never been claimed in your organization's Fuse tenant, please contact Avocor Support with your device serial number and we will manually delete the device data:

B) If you have previously claimed the device in your organization's Fuse tenant, simply navigate to the device page and delete the device.
