To achieve the best-possible out-of-box audio and microphone performance for your meeting space, the USB Microphone speaker is enabled by default on your display. This configuration enables the best possible DSP/cancellation performance for the display by making the microphone pick up audio from the built-in USB audio device, and in turn allows the display's AEC processor to properly filter incoming and outgoing audio for maximum clarity.
Though this should be set up out-of-box by default, it's good practice to look at your display and PC audio configuration if you are having issues with audio, and make sure that they are set up as follows...
USB Audio Configuration
- Navigate to Audio Settings > Audio Source and make sure that your audio source is set to "USB" (default).
- On the active PC, open the Sound Control Panel and set the "XMOS SMartMic..." speaker and microphone as the default Playback and Recording devices.

Keep in mind, the above settings are best practice for a simple, out-of-box setup utilizing the display's speakers and microphone. Other setups involving the display's Aux Input or even Video Source audio are perfectly valid given the right peripherals and use-case.
