This article contains installation instructions and firmware files for the Avocor AVF-7550 interactive display.

Firmware installation instructions

Things you'll need:

  • FAT32 Formatted USB Drive
  • Avocor AVF-7550 Remote Control

Checking your firmware version

Prior to installing firmware, you should check your current version in the display's OSD by pressing the Settings key on your Avocor remote control and navigating to the Information submenu.

Scaler installation

  1. Download the Scaler_AVF-7550_VXXX.bin onto your FAT32 formatted USB flash drive (click here for downloads).
  2. Rename Scaler_AVF-7550_VXXX.bin to merge.bin (see here for details).
  3. Plug the USB flash drive into the USB Service Port, located on the display's side I/O panel.2019-11-12_15h12_18.png
  4. Open the OSD via the menu button on your Avocor remote control.
  5. Navigate to Adv. Settings>Firmware Update USB.
  6. When prompted "Are you sure?" select Yes.
  7. After the install finishes and the display reboots, initiate a Restore Factory Default and then power cycle the unit via the A/C rocker switch near the power cable plug.

The image below shows how the renamed files should look in your USB directory.

    • Follows display (default): OPS will shut off when display is powered down. 
    • Always on: OPS will remain powered on even when display is powered down.
  • Revised description for Wake Up From Sleep and added VGA as an option.
  • HDMI HDCP to OSD under Adv. Settings:
    • Enable All (default)
    • Disable HDMI 1
    • Disable HDMI 2
    • Disable HDMI 1 & 2
  • HDMI RGB Range: 
    • Default: 0~255
  • Changed Audio Source options:
    • Video Source (default, except for VGA)

  • Added Game Mode under Adv. Settings (default: On).

    • Ability to Check for Input Signal (responses below):
      • 0 - Signal
      • 1 - No Signal
    • OPS Power State
      • 0 - Follows display
      • 1 - Always on
    • VOI & VOD: Increment & decrement volume by definable value.
    • Define HDMI HDCP settings
      • 0 - Enable All
      • 1 - Disable HDMI 1 & 2
      • 2 - Disable HDMI 1
      • 3 - Disable HDMI 2
